On Sat. February 4th, 2012 Octane Raceway fired up 10 Sodi Jr karts for the fastest Jr kart racers for miles around and kicked off the 1st race of 5 in the inaugural Jr Kart Racing Leagues. Most of the Jr racers had at one time or another successfully completed the Raceology 101 Kart Racing class and were now ready to enter into competition and go wheel to wheel to see if what was learned in class would apply in the real world of indoor Jr kart racing.
Each race day was set with a 5 lap Qualifier into a 10 lap Heat. The Heat finish position then determined the starting order for the 20 lap Main. Each racer got to drive one kart for Q/H and then a different kart for the Main. Track 1 & 2 c/w & c/c/w were scheduled for the first 4 races and the 5th and final race was held on the ½ mile GP Track to determine the overall Jr League “Champion”.

Speedy Sam Gillum not only Wins the Final race of the series but he is Awarded the “Champions Trophy” for winning the Inaugural Jr Racing League.
2nd Place overall goes to Jack Fresquez
3rd Place went to Kody Culbertson
The Top Turtle Award went to Jonathan Reale who thru-out the series never gave up and raced every race with every intent to win one. Took a 3rd place in the Final.

The next Jr Racing League dates/times will announced shortly. Look for an early June start date.
